Cancellation Policy

Cancellation- and change fees:

Cancellations must be made in writing and confirmed by us.

We reserve the right to charge cancellation fees as follows:

If cancelled 7-14 days prior to flight:10%
If cancelled 1-6 days prior to flight:50%
If cancelled less than 24 hours prior to flight:80% 

Flights and/or disposition of combined duration of more than 5 hrs.; 6 months prior to flight:10%

Pilot’s cancellation or changes before departure due to bad weather:​ Free

Priority flights:

Due to the special area of operation, Reykjavik Helicopters can place any helicopters at disposal for life-threatening evacuations, search and rescue or other community related priority flights. These may disrupt agreed operations but are not to be considered a breach of the agreement.

Any client may request a priority flight and the request will be assessed by Reykjavik Helicopters.

Due to the natural risk of affecting existing projects, a surcharge of 25% applies to the hourly rate.

Overnight fee:

For overnight stays outside the helicopters home base, an overnight fee applies to cover expenses such as crew housing and food, hangar/airport space rental, and other pertinent expenses if not paid by customer upfront.

Each night:ISK 100.000,-

General terms and conditions:

Reykjavik Helicopters cannot be held accountable for any arising expenses due to cancellations, changes or flights cut short due to weather or other safety concerns beyond our control.

In the unlikely event of mid-tour termination away from departure or destination point due to unforeseen circumstances, Reykjavik Helicopters will pay for expenses related to the stay and/or transport to destination.

The costumer is entitled to change the itinerary at any time, with respect for the mentioned fees if applicable.

The pilot’s responsibility and decisions regarding conditions of safety and execution of flight is final. Those conditions include, but not limited to weather, flight time limitations, aviation regulations and other pertinent regulations.

Intoxicated passengers are subject to denied boarding without compensation.

Confirming a booking is considered an acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.

Mentioned prices and fees are subject to changes, refer for latest revision. They describe general conditions and practices without specific prior arrangements and agreements.

Since we are aware that chartering a helicopter can cover some very specific and individual requirements, we are always at your disposal to discuss any customized arrangement with regard to special pricing and individual conditions.

Reykjavik Helicopters reserves the right to utilize any empty legs there might be for company requirements.

Insurances covers all insurances required by law with up to USD 15 million, which includes:

Bodily injury, property damage – No deductible
Baggage – Deductible 125 EUR
Cargo – Deductible 800 EUR
